iPod Touch Bounce On review

Posted on February 6th, 2012 by admin in Game Geek Reviews

In Bounce On, a red ball has accidentally fallen out of someone’s pocket and it’s the player’s job to guide it home while picking up gems and power-ups along the way and avoiding (or squashing) enemies, Mario-style.  The ball is controlled via tilt with a tap to the screen to bounce.  The graphics are simplistic, cartoony and colorful.

The game features smooth animation and a comfortable play pace. The game makes uses of an “over world” map–similar to that of Super Mario Bros. 3–and offers players multiple paths to reaching the “door” to the next world. Currently the game consists of 2 worlds with over 30 levels of play. The developers promise more worlds to come as free updates with world 3 near completion.

The game play is very simple. You control the ball by tilting your phone left or right. Sensitivity settings are absent but the game doesn’t need them because the tilt control is so well done. Bounce the ball by pressing anywhere on the screen. The longer you press the screen, the higher you bounce. Enemies like spring balls, walking balls that get angry when you bounce on them and spiked balls are all there to impede your progress. Touch one of them or fall off a ledge into the videogame depths below and you lose a life. Power-ups turn your ball invincible, increase the jump height, and magnetize your ball.

I downloaded Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter about a week ago and, even though its a”dusty” game, its the best PS3 game in my opinion ;-)
